How to whiten laundry with 5 natural methods

In order to prevent household accidents caused by using bleach, in today’s article we will show you how to wash and whiten laundry using 5 eco-friendly methods. To get rid of stains on fabric and to regain the original white, you need to use natural products (that you usually have in the house).

White vinegar

In addition to being a useful product for removing stains and dirt, white vinegar is gentle with soft materials, making them soft naturally. You don’t need fabric softener based on chemicals.

How to use

• In the washing machine, add ½ cup of distilled white vinegar over the laundry detergent and start a usual wash.
• If clothes were stained on the collar, on the underarm area or elsewhere, rub these areas with white vinegar and wash them again after 1 hour.

Baking soda

This product, in addition to being inexpensive, can penetrate well into the clothes fabric, removing stains and making them softer.

How to use

• Add ½ cup of baking soda over the laundry detergent and wash as usual. Remember to always separate whites from coloreds.
• For stubborn stains, apply baking soda mixed with a little lemon juice directly on those areas.

Hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is an excellent product if you want to whiten clothes because it doesn’t contain bleach.

How to use

• Add ½ cup of hydrogen peroxide over the usual laundry detergent. You can apply it directly on the stains.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice is an astringent that cleans the fabrics, removing dirt and leaving your clothes white and clean.

How to use

• Fill a pot with water, add a few lemon slices and boil them. Put the laundry in the lemon water and leave them 1 hour before washing them.
• Prepare a solution made of soap, 1 tablespoon of salt and the juice squeezed from 2 lemons. Soak the clothes in this mixture, then rinse and dry them.

Milk

This surprising ingredient can be used for laundry maintenance, because it whitens them. It’s especially recommended for delicate fabrics and cotton.

How to use

• Place the fabric in a bowl with milk and leave it for several hours before washing it as usual.
