They’re a nuisance and once warm weather starts rolling in, ants of all shapes and sizes can quickly invade your home. Once ants get into your home, it seems impossible to get rid of them.

There are several ways to remove ants naturally, depending on how bad your ant problem is.
As a rule of thumb, if the ants aren’t ruining your plants or yard, you should leave them alone.

Check out these 7 organic ways to stop the invasion of ants into your home.

#Diatomaceous Earth

– As a simple, fine powder, diatomaceous earth can be sprinkled by hand (or really any other way you’d like) in any problematic areas where you want to kill ants and prevent them from going in the future. This can be doorways, holes in the baseboards, in front of the pantry, or just about anywhere else indoors. It can also be used outdoors as a barrier on the outside of your door to stop ants from coming in or sprinkled around your garden to keep unwanted visitors out.

#Baking Soda

– When the ants eat the baking soda, it reacts with the ant’s digestive chemicals and produces carbon dioxide. Some internet theories say that the baking soda will make ants explode. While we don’t know that for sure, we do know that it dries out their bodies to kill them.

How to use:

>Take equal parts baking soda and powdered sugar.
>Mix it together.
>Pour it in a shallow container (like a lid from a jar).
>Place that container close to where you see (or have seen) those annoying little ants.

#Flour & Baby Powder

– Sprinkle a line of flour or baby powder along the backs of pantry shelves and wherever you see ants entering the house. Repelled by the flour, ants won’t cross over the line.

#Coffee Grounds

– The strong smell of coffee grounds tends to confuse ants, often throwing them off of the scent that they were following. Place the grounds in the areas that the ants tend to congregate or directly in the colonies for best results.

#Uncooked Cream of Wheat

– When ants eat uncooked farina, it expands in their stomachs, killing them.

#1 part Vinegar & 1 part Water Spray

– Clean your apartment with vinegar and water solution spray to make ants’ trails lose their smell. Try to find the nest and spray it all over. Just remember, that sprays of this kind don’t kill ants, they just make them uncomfortable.

#Borax

– For an effective organic ant repellent, scatter borax or talcum powder liberally around house foundations and known points of
entry, such as doors and windows. Other effective organic
repellents include cream of talcum powder, tartar, powdered sulfur,
and oil of cloves.
