If you want to have a pleasant smell in the car without using scented cardboard air fresheners, choose a natural way, simpler and eco.

All you have to do is to crush a few leaves of herbs and put them in a tea infuser which you hang from the rearview mirror. Tea infusers look like wired balls with small holes. They are found in hypermarkets, kitchen utensils section. They are cheap and cost around $1.

Here are some combinations of leaves and herbs that you might use for preparing a car freshener:

– Rosemary leaves, which smell much fresher and more natural than scented cardboard Christmas trees;
– A mixture of rosemary, cloves and cinnamon (stick-shaped) will get a freshener with a light and sweet fragrance
– Lavender, for a relaxing and stress-free freshener: Crush both flora and leaves and fill the infuser;
– Mint;
– Sage and lemon or orange peel: to get a stronger flavor, sprinkle a few drops of essential oil over them.
