If you want to clean suede shoes (or suede bags) at home, arm yourself with the following items:
– good quality eraser
– suede special brush (it has very strong bristles)
– damp cloth
– white wine vinegar
First, use an eraser to carefully rub the stains (not to ruin the material). Brush the stained area with the suede special brush. Pour a little vinegar on a damp cloth and rub the stains with it, then let it dry. Vinegar smell may persist for a few days after cleaning.
If your suede item has an oily stain, try to use talcum powder to absorb the oil. Sprinkle powder over the stain and let it work overnight, then scrub with a special brush.
Special cleaning technique: Put the stained suede item over a pot of boiling water. The steam will soften and hydrate the suede, which you can clean it after with the same special brush.
