If you’ve ever dirt your clothes while cooking, you probably already know that stains of this kind are very difficult to remove. But difficult doesn’t mean impossible.
Even if it requires a lot of work (as well as patience) you can remove grease completely from your favorite garment. Along with my cleaning team, I discovered some effective cleaning methods that will remove grease in the blink of an eye!
1. A little effort
This method requires some effort and patience, but it’s efficient and accessible. If you notice a dry grease spot, the goal is to make it greasy again.
You will need:
- WD-40
- cotton sticks
- baking soda
- cardboard
- liquid soap
- toothbrush
Place cardboard inside the garment next to the stain and apply the WD-40 to the stain area. Then sprinkle baking soda and start brushing the stain with a toothbrush until it’s soaked in the fabric.
Add baking soda, if necessary, and rub the stain again with the brush until you see that it is not soaking anymore. Then remove the piece of cardboard and put the clothing item in the washer.
2. A simple solution: dishwashing detergent
If you need a simple and quick way to get rid of grease stains, apply dish detergent on the stain.
Rub the stain area so that the detergent to be well absorbed. Leave the clothing item for 1 hour to soak, and then put them in the washer.
3. An accessible version: hairspray
Perhaps any woman has hairspray in the house, but not everyone knows that is very effective in remove grease stains.
Just apply it on the stain area and wipe it gently. After a few minutes, wash the clothing item as usual.
4. A strange idea: Cheez Whiz sauce
It may seem very strange, but Cheez Whiz is very effective against old fat stains. Apply it for 5-10 minutes, and then wash the coat in the washer as usual.
