Most of the time, when we buy a new carpet, it has that pungent chemical and paint smell. Even if the carpet is made of natural fibers, such as wool or silk, they are glued and hardened with some strong and smelly adhesives. The problem is that this smell persists in the house for weeks if not months.

The first step when you decorate your house with a new carpet is to open wide the window, no matter how cold is outside. And if you have allergies, this toxic smell will annoy you even more.

You need:

  • warm water
  • vinegar

Mix 2 parts of warm water with 1 part of vinegar and put the solution in a spray bottle.

How to use?

Just sprinkle the solution over the entire surface of the carpet, let it dry, then turn the carpet on the other side and repeat the procedure.

Then vacuum well the carpet and ventilate the room very well.

Don’t be afraid, because the vinegar smell will be gone in a few hours, along with that toxic smell.

You know the rule: a strong smell can be easily removed with another strong smell!
