If you’re trying to take care of your health you need to take care of your mattress too. Ohio University researchers have concluded that inside the mattress there are up to 10 million dust particles.
Moreover, in mattresses live mites and although they are not as dangerous to our health, their faeces are really harmful. They irritate our skin and lungs.
What you should do?
First, linens should be washed in hot water as this destroys dust mites.
Sprinkle baking soda over the entire mattress using a sieve, but not directly from the container. You can add a few drops of lavender oil.
Let it work for a few hours and then vacuum up. Don’t hurry up when you vacuum, move very slowly in order to remove the dust from inside.
You can try to clean your mattress using a steam device also. Steam cleaning will allow you to remove existing stains and will disinfect the area too. Make sure everything is dry before you put the bed sheets.
The cushions can be full of mites, especially if you sweat a lot during the night. Besides the fact you must wash the linen, it is highly indicated to buy new pillows every two years.
