This is also not time-consuming and I find it way easier to clean the fridge because the dirt will be gone with one or two swipes. Hence, if you want to turn to a more natural approach when you are cleaning a very important item in your kitchen, the fridge, keep reading. Here you have the recipe for a fantastic DIY cleaner for your fridge to keep it fresh and healthy.

I use this to clean my fridge weekly but you could also do it on a bi-monthly basis. To make this DIY cleaner, you will need the following ingredients:

– around 24 ounces of water
– 2 cups of distilled white vinegar
– 1 tablespoon of castile soap
– ¾ cup hydrogen peroxide
– 1 teaspoon of washing soda
– 1/2 teaspoon of Borax
– 25 drops of tea tree oil
– 2 drops of eucalyptus oil
– 2 drops of lemon essential oil

Basically, the vinegar will naturally disinfect and clean any bacteria there is in your fridge. Then, using castile soap, hydrogen peroxide, washing soda and Borax will help get rid of the dirt. Lastly, the essential oils will help with providing a beautiful scent and beneficial cleaning properties.

Simply mix all the ingredients in a large spray bottle. You need a bigger bottle because the hydrogen peroxide will cause it to expand when you are shaking the ingredients. Thus, the contents may overflow even if the bottle is closed.

Then, remove all the food from the fridge and let’s begin cleaning. Spray all the surfaces inside the fridge with the DIY cleaner and then let it sit for 5 minutes. Next, simply proceed to wipe the spray off with a clean towel and follow up with another dry one. That’s all!
